I'm not usually into musicals, but when they're as well-crafted as this one, they stick with me for days: I didn’t know much about the musical or book before watching, but I’m familiar with The Wizard of Oz and its classic roots. the film is bursting with color, creativity and modern relevance—it’s inclusive in a way that feels natural and meaningful, adding another layer of depth to its charm. the set design is award-worthy and the direction pulls it all together seamlessly. the world-building here is on another level, probably the best I’ve seen since Harry Potter—it delivers everything a fantasy fan could ask for: a visually stunning, immersive and fully believable experience. from the first scene to the last, it felt like stepping directly into the vibrant and magical land of Oz. Cynthia and Ariana are perfectly cast, giving performances that feel iconic and unforgettable: their chemistry on screen amplifies the emotional weight of every moment they share, making their dynamic the heartbeat of the story. this adaptation balances the grandeur of a musical with the intimacy of cinema so effortlessly it’s a beautiful, magical experience that leaves you longing for the next chapter.
