This was so heartfelt and fun! You gotta love when DreamWorks sits up in their chair and decides they actually want to make a good movie- when they lock in, I seriously think their body of work stacks up with Pixar’s A material, especially over the past decade or so.
The Wild Robot wasn’t quite deep enough to make me consider it a masterpiece, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t move me. The narrative is still really emotional, the voice acting is phenomenal across the board and the painting-esque art is drop dead gorgeous from start to end- it’s an absolute treat of a film and I definitely recommend seeing it on a big screen like it deserves.
If I had a nickel for every robot-centric animated movie I saw this week that deserves to be seen in theaters and probably won’t be by the general public even though it should be… y’all know this bit goes
