Really solid filmmaking chops that I would love to see dramatizing much stronger material. Stevenson’s eye towards cinematography and sound design do a lot of good work for her film. Watching this script repeatedly stop and stitch itself to The Omen mostly means several extra minutes gesturing us towards a film and a franchise that honestly isn’t worth the effort anyways. Very overqualified cast for this material. Nell Tiger Free is quite good, and the gruesomeness of its best moments is really something, but I’m surprised at how much The First Omen was hyped up by certain corners relative to what it delivered
