Don’t get me wrong, there are some incredibly unsettling, disturbing and almost cursed images/little bits in this, but i’m not entirely sure they all work together cohesively?
Both Monroe and Cage are fantastic, and I gotta say I actually did enjoy all the procedural stuff within this but what really gets me is the bizarre exposition dump near the end.
From there, it goes off the rails in a not so great way. Think of this film as slowly accelerating and once you reach 100mph, you slam on the brakes, but instead of the thrill of speed, ready to do it again, you get rammed from behind by a semi cause you weren’t looking behind you. That’s Longlegs.
Shoutout to the marketing team though, some of the absolute best marketing for a horror film i have seen in a while, but safe to say im okay coming out of this one. At least for now…..
