i never really write serious reviews on anything because one i know no one really cares and two i know nothing i have to say really means much but hold awn now luv...
i feel like the only way to properly introduce the month of march is to sit down in my bed and rewatch i, tonya. i’ve had this letterboxd account for two months now and i haven’t rewatched this movie for some reason so i never really got to properly review it the way i wanted to.
this film means????? so much to me. yes, it’s my @ clearly but it just completely flipped the switch for me when i first watched it two years ago. i always loved margot but seeing this movie changed everything for me. she’s so amazing in it and for her first real lead role..... god she fucking kills it. sebastian's another one. just absolutley perfect. the soundtrack for real gives me serotonin. i love this film so much despite its flaws, which it definitely has.
the way margot and allison portray that broken mother and daughter relationship just hits me in a way i can’t explain. the way you can physically see tonya’s heart break when the judge bans her from skating and doing the thing she loves most- i get it. and i think it’s absolutely insane i can relate to a movie about SKATING ??? but god i can.
i fucking love this movie. it’s been a couple of months since i’ve watched it and for a minute i questioned why it was my favorite since i’ve seen so many new ones lately that i also love. but every time i rewatch i’m reminded of why it’s my number one.
