I don't have a top ten favorite movies. I can't rank my all-time favorites. However, if I did have a top ten, this is absolutely one of the ten that would be there. Inception is Christopher Nolan's masterpiece.
The brilliant and original screenplay, the engaging, fun, and fascinating characters, the masterful storytelling (if there was ever a movie Nolan deserved a best director nom, it was this one), the fantastic acting across the board, the spectacular visual effects and breathtaking cinematography, and Hans Zimmer's most epic, heart pounding, and iconic musical score to date; It all comes together so perfectly. It ranks among the classics like Jaws, Star Wars, and Back to the Future, as it is the rare movie where all of the stars align in exactly the right place, creating what can only be described as pure movie magic.
Inception is a work of science fiction art. It is the representation of everything that Christopher Nolan is capable of as a storyteller. It is brilliant. It is mind blowing. It is mind bending, and as far as I'm concerned, it is a game changer not just for the modern day blockbuster, but for the world of film as a whole.
