There is nothing I can say about this film that hasn't been said already. The screenplay, the performances, Coppola's direction, all outstanding and the score is one of my favourites of all time.
The Godfather is a slow film, extremely slow, and for that reason I considered dropping my rating down by half a star. It takes a lot of patience to watch this film, patience that I don't have, but it just didn't sit right with me to take away this films well deserved 5 star rating just because of my concentration capabilities.
Anyway, I finally watched this for the first time tonight and whilst it was a tiring feat it was well worth it. Hopefully the cinephile cult will accept me now!
