I knew what was coming, and I still wasn't prepared...at all.
"Grave of the Fireflies" is considered a Ghibli classic and for damn good reason. It tells the story of two siblings struggling to survive in Japan during World War II. Their incredible bond and the harsh realities they are forced to face together, creates a haunting yet beautiful experience that I found deeply moving.
It's masterfully directed, stunningly animated, with a story that will live with me possibly forever. A must watch for everyone, just make sure to go in as blind as possible and 100% prepared.
