It does not hang together, but its vision of New York and the man at its center thrown out of wack can't help but resonate having come out just a few months after 9/11. Cruise doesn't stretch here, but the movie around him does, to the breaking point, which feels like some sort of commentary on his relationship and evolution with the public eye.
Also Cameron Diaz's sexiness has never felt more dangerous. And I include "The Counselor" in that
And best use of Radiohead in a movie? It's either this or "Incendies."
