First big screen watch with the gf. The plotting, as well as the filmmaking, is a little ridiculous, as are Jenny Slate and Hasan Minhaj, who act exactly how you expect them to, and not to the film's benefit. And the Other Guy is a block of wood. But Lively does her very best. She has reaction shots here, tightly held, that feel like a real person experiencing real emotion. Not much else feels "real."
