Wow, such a powerful film. It’s been on my list for a while now, and my history teacher decided to recommend it to the class for this weekend, perfect watch. I know the story of the black panthers and what happened to Fred Hampton, so I kind of knew what to expect. But this was very very good and had me invested the whole time even if I knew what would happen. There’s so many great performances here, but Kaluuya gave it his all and was amazing. The score and cinematography in here as well, so stunning to see and hear.
There are so many great moments here, the Welcome Back Speech Scene was so powerful and sent chills down my spine. Surprised this film didn’t win more awards as I think it should’ve, so many talented actors and actresses with a great script and story to be told. It’s devastating to see what was going on back then and this film tells it greatly without taking emotions away. Truly such a great watch, really recommend.
