This is definitely one of the better remakes out there. The way they play on classic Evil Dead scenes and change it up enough just for it to feel fresh but not change it up too much is honestly super hard to do. You gotta hand it to Fede Alvarez for that one, whether you like the film or not. I genuinely like this one, it’s darker than the first one and there’s several differences that don’t ruin the story, that keep it different enough, and make it entertaining and enjoyable. It’s a good remake. While not the only remake out there that’s good, it’s definitely one of the best ones. Also I’ll say this, it’s not necessarily a necessary film, like this didn’t have to be made, but here’s what most people don’t realize, in the same vein of, Doctor Sleep, El Camino, and many many other films. Just because they weren’t necessarily necessary doesn’t make it bad. That’s nice to have.
