HARK! If ye have not yet seen The Lighthouse, ye best be gettin’ to it soon. Eggers spun a yarn of a black and white hellscape sittin’ at the edge of the world: bein’ both mystifying and as horrifying as the raging mistress, the sea herself.
The sea shan’t be tamed and is shot akin to a creature: foe to the men trapped at the whim of The Lighthouse. A villainous presence consumes the thoughts and actions of the lads: the ever-spinning light. HARK, this light represents hope in the darkest of situations ye could find yerself in: allegorically describing what drives men’s will to keep their hope alive. Encountering a precocious situation beating the shit out of seagulls or drinking copious amounts of alcohol may nary offer up a solution to yer problems, but they be effective stress relief for certain.
