Goddamn, a comedy like this was long overdue. Endlessly quotable. A cast of next/current generation all stars. Oozing heart and proud bravado. Noah Galvin & Ben Platt are magnificent. Jimmy Tatro dancing to a kid singing Post Malone’s “Better Now” has been permanently etched in my brain. Ayo Edebiri only being the fifth best character doesn’t even make logical sense. Molly Gordon’s best work ever, and that’s already a high bar. There’s a very good chance this eventually finds its way to a full five stars.
Edit: it’s Waiting for Guffman but with children singing songs about how women were illiterate in the 1960s. So fuck it. Five stars.
