Milez Das (Rohit Shivdas)’s review published on Letterboxd:
Holly: [At party] Dad, there are whores here n'stuff. Holland March: Don't say n'stuff. Just say, Dad, there are whores here.
Kind of starting the movie from his debut movie Lethal Weapon, Shane Black's The Nice Guys is iconic, funny and the most underrated movie of 2016.
You have every ingredient here. Ryan Gosling screaming like a girl, Russell Crowe beating the shit out of people (also looking kind of drunk)... A pron movie where the plot is the point, a scene of Mary Mark before he got into Boggie Nights, Kim Basinger trying to look like her role in LA Confidential. Also we have Paul Dano look alike motherfucker who gets run over.
Kid on Bike: You guys wanna see my dick? Holland March: Nobody wants to see your dick, dude. Kid on Bike: 20 bucks? Holland March: We already paid you 20... what am I saying?
Damn it!, Janet
At some point I thought Margaret Qualley should start her Kenzo routine with Spike Jonze filming her.
Also found out that Chet is Val Kilmer's son.
Angourie Rice is still the best thing about this movie.
And when you are watching this movie on Rabbit with LB's best, you know you are going to have fun.
And did we really see RDJ...?
Holland March: What are you doing? Holly: I was giving you a rimjob. Holland March: [horrified] Rimshot!... Rimshot.
