Plot was a mess, villain was standard issue hammer-wielding Kree, and Nick Fury seems to have forgotten the life-altering traumas that recently happened in his dire tv series.
BUT the three leads (well, mostly just Carol and Kamala; Monica isn't given a lot other than grumpy/sad) are wonderful together; I loved Ms. Marvel and was hoping this movie would be as goofy and charming and, in parts, it was. Happy to see Kamala’s family made it through the many (many) cuts. And so glad they didn’t try to drag the Kang/multiverse nonsense into it.
I can imagine a version of this movie where Carol is trying to fix the problems she caused, with help from the other two, rather than punching a boring villain over and over again.
