Rewatched 21 Jun 2019

Yes the acting is variable, yes some of the effects are hokey, but it's really important to remember the impact The Evil Dead had on horror cinema on its release. There's some incredibly creepy moments and a real sense of dread throughout (and beyond) the whole build up. And Ash's demonic friends are absolutely nightmarish.
