hey google, how do i inject a film into my veins?
aaahh it’s so hard to untangle my web of thoughts (pun intended) about how groundbreaking into the spider-verse is, not only for future animated films but superhero films entirely; admittedly, i don’t know how well something like this could translate into live action. anyway, i felt genuine pride for all the characters and their fantastic development, which spans across only a 2 hour period. specifically, i was invested in miles going from in denial of his newly acquired spidey-skills to accepting, then dominating those skills to save his fellow spider-uhhhh-people. likewise, i was entiredly too fond of washed up peter b. parker’s disinterest in miles very quickly pivot to protective older brother cause, like, how could you not want to cherish and love that squishy cheeked lil baby uwu
miles’ first swing in his dope black spray painted suit gave me goosebumps and continuous chills. we’ve seen similar scenes across all superhero movies, especially spider-man ones, but what an amazing directioral and animation feat to adapt that just as meaningfully into an animated film
anyway there’s so much i want to talk about but i really want to watch it again first so i don’t miss anything so here’s some other highlights:
– miles and his mom speaking spanish 🥰
– aaron’s love for miles being worth a bullet
– gwen stacy being a complete badass 😍
– peni parker & sp//dr being cool as fuck?!?
– spider man noir being unexpectedly hot 🤤
– john mulaney as spider-ham
