He's gone back to the drawing board, he recharged the formula, he's tested the serum, he's reinvigorated the elements, he's realized that just using the Dark Shadows template in a more broadly acceptable format is the way to go! And who would blame him! It works! Less cool Rob Zombies Munsters goes pretty far for me! I think Burton since the first one has discovered sentiment entrapped in a newer penchant for bizarre loose storytelling so it is automatically better. It really gets more and more progressively cute as it goes on, the mother / daughter dynamic is such a beautiful crutch and the way it blossoms! The eternal montage of envisioning the life of your kid transcending your own, you just don't really know how much you love them until you're faced with their loss, only wanting to protect something so fragile and delicate (I'm not talking about the gross baby thing ok!!!). Most of the men in this are terrible excuses for human beings (good thing), it's got dry dry jokes for dry dry people and it wants nothing more than to coast into its own quiet insanity but when you think about it that's what makes it special. It's a movie kinda for the girls? With bonding and really uncool stuff happening and I'm getting to the age where I find that charming, it's like when your a kid you play with your toys then fifty years later your doing the exact same thing. Maybe just one reason you would have a kid is to have a little you running around, they're are no limits to how far we can go in this world.
