An entertaining sequel to one of Tim Burton's breakout films, Bettle juice Beetlejuice is able to retain the offball humor of the original while adding an emotional crux especially to Winona Ryder's Lydia Deetz character. Michael Keaton is still as energetic as ever as Beetlejuice and I love that Tim Burton rejuvenated his creative visual juice with this movie, even reincorporating the old-school sets and practical effects.
There's one or two subplots in this narrative that I could have done without, and it takes a bit to get going, but all around, a good sequel that felt like it warranted its own existence and is a welcome return to Tim Burton at his best strengths.
