Finally got around to watching this, and I can wholeheartedly say it’s just as great as everyone says it is. As many have already stated, Into the Spider-Verse has some of the best animation I’ve ever seen. It’s equal parts colourful and incredibly breathtaking to look at, and there’s many creative uses of it throughout the film. Mixed with visuals straight out of a comic book, it really makes the film stand out in a lot of ways.
I really liked the main cast, consisting of Miles, Peter, and Gwen, and seeing them bicker and banter, while also having tender moments really made them feel real in a way. Watching these already established characters grow and develop throughout the film was a major highlight for me. Miles and his father Jefferson’s relationship was also portrayed really well, and seeing them interact really gave us more incentive to care about Miles. They may have their ups and downs, but they’re family at the end of the day.
The soundtrack is amazing, and it really complimented the film in a lot of ways. Shoutout goes out to The Prowler’s Theme.
Okay, this review’s gone on long enough. So, in the end did I like this film? Yeah, it was pretty good.
