Burn After Reading is one of those films I have seen before but couldn't quite remember the plotline. Recently fired CIA analyst Osbourne Cox (John Malkovich) decides to write his memoir. A CD copy is misplaced at a nearby gym and found by Chad Feldheimer (Brad Pitt) and his coworker Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand). They mistakenly believe it contains sensitive government information. Deciding there must be a way to make money from their find, they try to ransom the disc back to Osbourne. When that fails, they find themselves at the Russian Embassy.
The ensemble cast, including George Clooney, Tilda Swinton and J.K Simmons, are all incredible in their roles. Special mention goes to Mr "Hardbodies" Gym, bleached hair tips, Brad Pitt, who is bloody hilarious in his role. The excellent storyline moves along quickly, but I felt a little let down by the ending, almost as if none of the characters' plotlines reached an appropriate conclusion. Enjoyable but at the same time forgettable (is that a thing??).
