Skellington Crew’s review published on Letterboxd:
In my opinion, this is a really interesting film. I have mentioned before that I am part of a dissociative system and talked about our former host before. When this movie first came out, she saw it in theaters. What she was hoping for and what the movie actually is were two very different things. Well, maybe they weren't that different because the only thing she really didn't like was how the witch and witchcraft in general were portrayed. She was really hoping the movie was going to do something different in that respect. She's also biased, as am I. However, knowing she hated it and why allowed me to be prepared when I went to watch this. As my star rating indicates, I actually really liked this movie. Yeah it's bad representation and that's tiresome, but this movie is too good to get caught up on that. (Halloween III: Season of the Witch was not and thus doesn't get afforded that luxury.) This movie is grand in terms of acting, cinematography, set/costume design, etc. It shines in all those places, but I also love the story and the ambiguity it lends itself to so well. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go avoid the former host so I don't have to hear her argument for why I'm wrong.
