oz perkins needs to teach a masterclass in executing tension. every shot in this film was oozing with it as though you were being set up for a jump scare but instead met with stillness and dread. the only time tension was broken was with a quick joke or even some acapella in which you were left with still an uncomfortable pit feeling (even when you are laughing for a brief moment before you are still again) of something being not quite right.
