The best Iron Giant since The Iron Giant. Sometimes it doesn't take more than a fox, a goose and a life-optimizing robot to make me cry without control. Nyong'o and Pascal are adorable, Rhames and Berry are great sidekicks, Hamill is a perfect grumpy bear and Bill Nighy is the leader a flock of geese needs. A sci-fi adventure fable that becomes simply great thanks to so many small gestures, moments and sentences. And one of the best and most beautiful animated films of the year.

Manchmal braucht es eben nicht mehr als einen Fuchs, eine Gans und einen lebensoptimierenden Roboter, um mich hemmungslos zum Weinen zu bringen. Nyong’o und Pascal sind hinreißend, Rhames wie Berry tolle Sidekicks, Hamill ist ein perfekter Brummbär und Bill Nighy der Anführer, den eine Gänseschar braucht. Eine Sci-Fi-Abenteuer-Fabel, die durch so viele kleine Gesten, Momente und Sätze einfach nur ganz groß wird. Und einer der besten wie wunderschönsten Animationsfilme des Jahres.
