GoodFellas is by definition a Christmas movie. It goes far beyond the one Christmas scene where Jimmy threatens everyone who spent money from the heist on expensive gifts while Frosty the Snowman plays in the background. GoodFellas, like all Christmas movies, is a story about materialism, faith, family, love, and money. The scene where Jimmy tries to get some of the crew to return their gifts is a prime example of how materialism has ruined the Christmas spirit and because of their selfishness, Jimmy had all of them whacked because they didn’t follow the Christmas decree of selflessness and love. Henry even had 3 different women throughout this movie, showing that he was capable of love beyond the traditional sense. A Christmas classic in my book.
