This film hits one of my emotional weaknesses, which is portraying those crucial fleeting moments of life. Moments that are important because they're woven into the integral parts of your life. When looking back they're signifying exactly why this or that phase of your life was in fact among the best. Maybe they signify a time before it went downhill, you've moved past the missed opportunities, given up on the chances you didn't take, and, above all, you've seen people move on without you. Whether if it's colleagues in a workplace that you've spent most of your days with, or if it's classmates from school, who've seen you at your highest and lowest, it's always a bit of a gut punch, when your paths separate. I've lived through some of those emotions myself, and Broadcast News captures that so precisely. Besides that, James Brooks' script is hilarious at times, and there are enough gags in this that it becomes the perfect blend of comedy and drama. Hunter, Albert Brooks and Hurt won my heart completely. One of the best of the 80's.
