okay, i get that the entire point is that the town came together because they loved george so much that they raised this amazing amount of money, and that it was his friendship that saved him…
but can we just talk about how potter LITERALLY STOLE (adjusted for inflation, 8,000 in 1943) equal to 140,000 dollars cash?!?!?! like that is some pretty serious burglary to go completely uninvestigated and unquestioned! not to mention his lackey wheelchair pusher saw it happen and did nothing about it!
would have been nice that after all that, clarence told george “hey, just so ya know, potter stole that 140,000 dollars. you might want that back.” gee.
