i finally got around to watching the whole scenes from a marriage minisseries and i’m really happy i did. when i watched the theatrical release i remember that i didn’t really love it and that i was a bit underwhelmed. i gave it 3,5 stars but i knew that the majority of people preferred the longer version because at the end of the day it’s the original work by ingmar bergman so i knew i had to give it another chance. well, it did not disappoint. i probably also wasn’t “in the mood” to watch this the first time i did but now i’m more than used to bergman and so it’s easy to see how this is one of his most well-regarded and iconic works. i’m curious and eager to watch the sequel (saraband) next as it will be my first contact with it. it’s also the only bergman movie that i can find online that i haven’t yet watched
