The movie shows the importance of a seemingly unimportant life. It teaches an incredibly important lesson and is very uplifting. The despair of James Stewart, who made one of the finest performance i have ever seen, is very touching. The solidarity and love of the people of Bedford Hills, the warm, soul-touching atmosphere this movie generates and the melancholic picture of the innocence of the people, we seem to have lost a long time ago, makes it one of the greatest Christmas movies ever made.
