Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer

Barbenheimer completed, 2 of the best movies of the year so far and a Joyride to be on, all 4 hours and 54 minutes of screentime immaculate, sensational and something I doubt I will experience again in my life span.

Oppenheimer has blown me away at how brilliant it was Nolan has done it once again as expected. I don't even know where to start literally everything about this movie I loved: the cinematography amazing, the cast incredible, the tension wow. I'll get rid of my 1 negative being that yes you do feel the 3 hour runtime on you but it makes sense because this is a Nolan masterclass.

This is a very dialogue and expedition heavy movie which I found to be really effective as the trailers really didn't lead me to believe that we would be travelling quite a fair bit and that the last act of this movie after the bomb has been dropped would be basically a court drama but damn it was gripping and had me on the edge of my seat for almost every second. We must talk about the countdown to the bomb being launched OMG I didn't expect myself to be so nervous and my heart was beating soo fast and when you final hear the Atomic Bomb explode (me being in am Imax screening with a speaker above me) words can't describe how loud that beautiful shit was just well done soundboard.

Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer was both an underrated choice of actor yet the perfect fit he killed it, this might finally be the time Murphy wins an Oscar and I will be over the moon if he does, The general story of the Rise and Fall of oppenheimer was just a chefs kiss and executed so well the 3 hour runtime really worked in the movies favor.

Once again I must talk about the cast, Robert Downey Jr as Lewis Strauss was really well acted and I wouldn't be surprised if he won best supporting actor but between him and Ryan Gosling as Ken it's a really hard choice. Other Actors/Actresses like: Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Jack Quaid, Matt Damon and Rami Malek just add to the great talent on screen and the all star cast definitely made me more intrigued in there characters then I original was.

The Fucking Score was beautiful, soundtrack and sound design brilliant and the cinematography, hell yes.
Nolan never once let's us the audience have a breather every minute of the movie you are on edge and it feels good.

The story here is absolutely phenomenal, from the change in perspective from the normal coloured scenes being Oppenheimers take on everything in first person, at points it then switch to Strauss perspective in the Black and White scenes and these are written in third person perspective. Just masterful and something we have seen before in another Nolan movie Memento, a movie I highly recommended.

Overall Oppenheimer is another impeccable Nolan movie as expected that never once had me bored or wanting to check my phone or leave the cinema to use the toilet. A great story, great cast, great everything this movie is near perfect. And I don't know if it's just me but I am seriously questioning some things about life right now after watching this movie, must be the Nolan effect.

And the question we have all been asking is Oppenheimer better than Barbie, 2 brilliant movies which obviously you can't compare but for the barbenheimer law I will answer and I believe Oppenheimer is indeed the better movie as of right now, ask me again tomorrow and I could easily say I prefer Barbie but as of this review and right now Oppenheimer edges it for me.
