Pointless conversation to have but can you imagine where this would stand as a franchise if Cuarón stayed on for multiple films? Columbus was kind of the perfect guy for those first two movies regardless of what you think of their quality, but what if the final 4 films were not made by the guy who directed Pain Hustlers this year? I'm not even trying to diminish his work on those films because I genuinely love them all but it's hard not to dream about the franchise being in the hands of Cuarón or one of his equally talented contemporaries all the way through to the end.
