Saw this on the second half of a double bill with THE FLY in 2018 — well, should say I saw about 10 minutes of it. I promptly fell asleep and ditched out on the last hour or so to get a drink with the guy I married two years later. I think I made the right choice then.
Finally rewatching all these years later and am finding it much more coherent than most make it out to be. Particularly interesting contrast to the current Burroughs adaptation making the rounds, also a period piece. Both Craig and Weller look mighty fine in a fedora but good god does Weller’s perfectly suit his perfect cheekbones.
