Auch wenn Anfang November sicher nicht die richtige Zeit für diesen Weihnachtsklassiker ist, kann Frank Capras Variante der Weihnachtsgeschichte mit einer wundervollen Botschaft und viel von James Stewart getragenem Humor auf ganzer Linie überzeugen. Da stören auch das Weltbild der vierziger und die stellenweise etwas konstruierte Handlung kaum.
