The Marvels brings back Brie Larson at Captain Marvel. However in this film she teams up with two other women, and Nick Fury to fight a villain who can travel through space and destroy and steal natual resources from other planets. The film also stars Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Samuel L. Jackson, and Gary Lewis.
I know everyone is getting a bit tired of the Superheroes at this point. We know this because almost all of the Superhero films in 2023 bombed including The Marvels. I too have a bit of Marvel and Superhero fatigue but I did enjoy this one. The film doesn't do anything extremely original but it doesn't do anyting bad either. I found it to be funny and overall entertaining. It was far from perfect, but there are far worse films that have come out this year for this one to get so much hate. Plus I personally like Brie Larson and she is a Sacramento, CA native.
