Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part One is a sort of homage to the original film MI film starring Tom Cruise. In this action-packed film, Ethan Hunt has been tasked with an impossible mission of retrieving two separate keys, that when combined can unlock an A.I. generated device that has so much power, that the holder of the keys can essentially control the world. This film co-stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, and Shea Whigham.
I've always been a huge fan of the Mission Impossible series. It is one of the better long-running action series but has never quite been my favorite. I prefer the "John Wick" or "Jason Bourne" series personally. I did find this film to be quite fun, mixing action and suspense very well. My favorite scenes are definitely the fighting sequence in the desert, and a car chase that is simply awesome! My only small gripe with this film, and many Spy/Espionage films in general, is that often the dialogue is just a bunch of Government or Military talk that nobody really cares about, and you are just waiting for the next action scene. Also, with a running time of almost 2 hours and 40 minutes, it is a tad bit too long. Other than that, it is a very satisfying film that I believe all audiences will enjoy.
