Not being a huge fan of Claudette Colbert or Joel McCrea is a real handicap when watching this movie. It’s otherwise loaded with a lot of Preston Sturges hijinks, which are generally wonderful, but the off-tune charm of the two leads, and their relatively paltry chemistry with one another, deflates a lot of the fun. Honestly, Rudy Vallée and Mary Astor are much more fun as a clueless pair of millionaire siblings. I would’ve preferred to spend the time with them.
