*The Black Phone rings*
“Uh…hello?” “I’d like to talk to you about your vehicle’s limited warranty.” “Great, anything other than watching The Black Phone.”

The biggest issue for me is the “hat on a hat” problem. Or, I guess for this movie it’s “a mask on a mask.” TBP is a movie about a child murderer undone by a pair of psychic siblings. It’s not gnarly enough on the killer side, and not cute enough for the kid stuff. 

And ultimately it’s just boring, not scary, and predictable. Won’t revisit.
