This is a very late update to my last post about my documentary. For context, see my last post.
I’ve been at camp for the last few weeks, talking to leaders and working (I’m still a counselor there after all and I’m one of the more senior staff so I have a lot on my plate this summer). As such, I’ve been very busy and the Kickstarter campaign came around later than I hoped it would.
But I did finally launch it earlier this week. It can be found here. The goal is a lot smaller this time around. $6,000 instead of the original $14,000. Once again, any help that can be provided is more than appreciated. Be it sharing the campaign or donating or whatever can be done.
I also want to give a few updates. Something that came as a pleasant surprise was how many of the leaders here at camp actually have connections that can be of great help. And so I’m working on talking to people now who can provide me with more help in getting this film made and seen. I’m not going to put all my eggs into one basket this time around after how much I was let down by the last deal I tried to make, but some of these look promising.
I’m as committed to the documentary as I’ve ever been and I’ve been getting a lot of footage. I have a clearer idea now of what I want the documentary to ultimately look like and the kind of idea I want to explore with it, but there’s still plenty more I’m still trying to hammer out conceptually and visually in terms of how to use the footage. I’m excited to continue working on it and I’ll hopefully be able to share more soon, hopefully good news.
