There’s a good movie in there somewhere but it’s a simple , straightforward plot when you get to the end. The problem is the script teases a more complicated story that doesn’t deliver. Del Toro though is solid. I did think at some point they were going for a more psychological thriller but it veers back to a more standard corruption plot.
Not bad but for what it is it takes a while to get there . It also teases for more personal conflicts that never materialize.
