Jean Peters like Nancy Olsen in Sunset Boulevard plays the sane and sensible character among the chaos. Max Showalter plays her husband who is quite annoying and dismissive of his wife’s concerns .
Monroe plays the femme fatale and Joseph Cotton her troubled and jealous husband. Things come to a predictable conclusion on all fronts but for all that it’s a compelling watch with the stunning backdrop of Niagara Falls that gives it the story a thrilling edge.
Monroe’s outfits are stunning and honestly between them and Jean Petrers two piece swimsuit this film should have had an Oscar nomination and win for best costume.
