More suspense than mystery for the audience . The murder in mind depends on a well thought out strategy that goes awry.
Positives the police do their investigative work when something seems off to the chief inspector and solve the case . How often are the police fools or close minded and need an outsider in movie or television plots?
The laying out of the plot by Tony ( Ray Milland ) gives us full insight to his character.
Negatives Margot ( Grace Kelly ) comes across as too incurious and rather naive. Positive- Grace Kelly does a good job of being somewhat of a blank canvas . We never know why her suspicions are not raised .
Mixed Mark ( Robert Cummins ) probably is better suited to Margot but ultimately doesn’t add much depth to the overall plot except we do see he cares about Margot. That’s not insignificant but I wish he added more to the plot.
Not my favorite Hitchcock movie but still entertaining.
