Really horrifying, even if extremely overzealous in its journalistic claims at times. Additionally, I’m struggling with how this was put together and narratively told.
And yet, people will still post their children on Instagram. Or worse, use them to make money. At this point, we’ve cut out the studios and gone direct to source.
Edit: lowered rating now with marc summers coming out about the producers baiting and switching him. such a cynical, self-important ploy to make a “splash” over something so serious. i really have trouble with how this doc has been put together and made.
edit 2: now with the deadline interview, the producers really are high on their own supply. The stories speak for themselves—no need for the manipulative editing and music. The producers claim to be presenting accurate and comprehensive information, but I was left watching the documentary feeling like there was a lot of anything but comprehensive, accurate information. Besides the stories, all it is is a lot of accusations and implications from the main two interviewed “journalists” without much actual evidence. The doc is sensationalist and nearly complete garbage if not for the actual true horror stories shared.
