Mad Max: Fury Road, Film Review,

The guitar guy is the MVP of this film.
In the leadup to Furiosa I decided to refresh my memory and check out this film again.
Mad Max: Fury Road is quite a great action film that is almost unlike anything I have ever seen before. George Miller's style is full of high octane moments that make the many action sequences in this film so engaging. The cinematography and editing really immerse you into this world and are incredibly stunning and unique. Going back to those action sequences they are just so insane and look brilliant as they were full of brilliant stunt work and practicality, each one is so tense and Miller finds new ways of making them engaging throughout the film. I think for performances both Tom Hardy as Max and Charlize Theron as Furiosa were brilliant casting decisions, their moments together in this film work so well and give you something to care about.
I think what holds this back at times can be the narrative itself, it was never particularly memorable and I don't think that was ever the point but it can be disappointing in the small windows where the film slows down to focus on the narrative. Both times watching this film I have found the beginning of the second act to be such a drag because it does exactly that, it slows itself down to focus on its writing and narrative.
Overall, Mad Max: Fury Road is a great action film that is so much fun, George Miller did a phenomenal job directing this and I am so excited to see what he is going to do with Furiosa in the future. I do recommend this one to you especially if you are a fan of action films.
