Let me tell you about my theater experience for this. 10am. TCL Chinese Theater IMAX. Absolutely jam packed with people. And it’s gonna be like this for the entire weekend. There was gasping, laughter you name it. Pretty awesome to see a movie like this being literally everyyyyyoneee together. The power of cinema yall. Then I immediately went to see “Barbie” right after HAHA
“Oppenheimer” is Christopher Nolan’s latest, and one of the best of his career. A riveting character study on the complexities and morality of J. Robert Oppenheimer’s involvement on the creation of the Atomic Bomb.
Like usual, the way he paces his movies isn’t my favorite, so I can’t really fault this one specifically for it but there were definitely moments in the last hour that felt absolutely dragging, which is odd because I thought the first two hrs went by FASTTT.
The performances here as absolutely top notch. Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. specifically are fucking amazing and riveting throughout the entire runtime. Everyone else is great as well.
My favorite aspect here was the presentation. Gorgeous piece of cinema to look at, absolutely beautiful. Aside from the whole dialogue mushing together thing Nolan likes to do, the sound design is SUPERB, and it had to be!
So yeah! Really enjoyed it, though it’s not my personal favorite of Nolan’s filmography, but some of his best stuff is in every fibre of this one. If you are even remotely interested, go see it!
