I have to say the lighting is absolutely perfect in this movie. For so long I've hated seeing studio lights being used over candles in horror movies and it has to be said that the natural lighting in and outdoors really sets the mood and creates the isolated, sinister feeling of the surroundings. All the cast do a good job in their roles, the pacing is good for a slow burn in that it never feels like time is being wasted or too much filler is being used, and the direction is great. I absolutely loved the ending. I have to say between this and The Lighthouse, Robert Eggers has the potential to be a go to director for me in years to come - after two movies it's too soon to call anyone great, but intrigued I am.
