You think because you let them tar and feather you that the world will forgive you?

The best movies are the ones that make me open this website and start a review without knowing what to say.

Just totemic. Masterfully Nolanian with its haunted men and crossing timelines. There are moments of glee in horror. The atom bomb test sequence will stick with me forever. Not just Benny Safdie with his glasses and whitened face, or the terror of the explosion, or the reams of light, or the delayed sound. It's when everyone cheers and shakes hands. They are celebrating their creation of destruction. They are there for innovation, not for the applications, but must repent for them anyway, be haunted by what they have done.

The way Nolan brings back visual and audio motifs throughout is masterful. It perfectly toes the line between hackiness and giving a sense of Oppenheimer's mental state. The room shaking as it did when the bomb was tested. The overwhelming light shining in. The feet stomping in the auditorium.

Really need to see this in IMAX next time. And can't wait to see with subtitles.
