The Witch is definitely one of the greatest suspense achievements in recent memory. With creepily good performances and a mood as somber as the era itself, Robert Eggers gave it all in his breathtaking big screen directorial debut. Each element is better than the last, and each scene is perfectly stitched to the story. Without a doubt, a pleasant surprise among so much disappointment in the mystery-ish genre.
