A many tiered layer cake for sure, stories cataloged and stripped of purpose pushed to redundancy, conveyed w/utter commitment from Brody and Weisz especially - still surprises me that Johnson ever made it in Hollywood (I am glad he did though) because this really is the kind of academic refraction of genre that can be hard to enjoy without a familiarity of that which is being contained (from itself) and so of course everything is listed, numbered, organized and then reshuffled.
