i spent the first half hour wondering what it was gonna be but when it finally kicked in for me, it was just purely delightful. this is the 21st century space jam. it’s so ambitious in all the things it tries to accomplish and manages to stick the landing. and the voice cast! a deftly employed nicolas cage, a wonderful jake johnson, and in case you haven’t heard, shameik moore is america’s sweetheart lying in wait.
i can’t wait to see it again.
